Robert Pattinson was so worried about looking wimpy compared to bodybuilder co-star Taylor Lautner that he spent six months working out, for Breaking Dawn, Parts 1 and 2, he revealed in an interview, and the Page 6 section of NY Post reports.
“The body of the characters seem(s) to be a big deal,” Robert Pattinson says. “So in this movie, I thought, ‘OK, it’s the last one, I’m getting a six pack, and I tried, but it’s very hard,'” he admits. Yes, it is!
It’s unusual for men to obsess over their looks that way, but, of course, movie stars are different. And in all the Twilight films after the first, Taylor Lautner gets to showcase that gorgeous bod, while Robert Pattinson can only wish. Score one for Team Jacob. Remember the famous, “Doesn’t he own a shirt” line from Eclipse? In the two Breaking Dawn films, Taylor the Wolf wears fewer clothes than ever.
But Rob valiantly worked out, week after week. And he did what it took to show his best side. “I always tried to think about positions where I could tense the muscles, and suck in my belly,” Robert Pattinson dished. But he never quite got as buff as he hoped. So after the filming of the major honeymoon scene with Kristen, Rob gave the whole routine up. In fact, his whole attitude was, “Time to eat!” Bodybuilding done!
Filming a sex scene, as many actors have attested, is not at all the same thing as having sex. All those lights and cameras get in the way of the action. If Robert Pattinson had been alone in the dark with Kristen Stewart, food might have been the last thing on his mind.
